# Market Positioning

W3.io is an industry consortium consisting of Web 3’s top off-chain compute projects and L1/L2 ecosystems. In Web 2 our direct competitors are the large cloud providers (GCP, Azure, etc). Since we are a neutral entity that’s organizational purpose is to increase the total addressable market for Web 3 compute and blockchain ecosystems, we have no direct or indirect competitors in Web 3 currently.

### **TL;DR**

W3.io’ is the Chainlink killer.

### **Key Takeaways**

* **Chainlink** dominates in **oracles and secure data feeds space;** critical for DeFi. However, they are too focused on DeFi and on becoming a SWIFT replacement, ignoring high TAM use cases such as RWAs and AI.
* **Chainlink is not intelligent.** Working off external non-verified data feeds, Chainlink is a 2D model and is limited in its ability to address complex workflows at scale. W3.io is designed to be 3D model that can support autonomous multi-party transactions bridging both on-chain and off.
* **Chainlink works to benefit Chainlink not the industry.** Whereas w3 works to benefit the entire Web3 ecosystem with easy value creation, revenues, end-user adoption, and next-generation utility.

### Breakdown

W3.io’s long-term objective is to increase the total addressable market for Web 3 compute and blockchain ecosystems by operating a full stack and community governed decentralized AWS equivalent. As the default layer by which organizations large and small will interface with on-chain workflows, W3.io has the potential to achieve business outcomes that are much larger in scope to even the most mature Web 3 infrastructure projects. The table below outlines differences between Chainlink and W3.io. Whereas the Chainlink network is designed to deliver workloads created by Chainlink Labs, W3.io’s objective is to create business and IT functionality by providing the out-of-the box intelligence and seamless two-way business automation for complex onchain workflows required to optimize the decentralized tech stack.
